The Salt Lake Vocal Artists perform the premiere of "Stars" by Ēriks Ešenvalds live in concert on July 26, 2011 in Libby Gardner concert hall, under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred. This was the Vocal Artists Bon Voyage concert prior to their Argentine tour and performance at the 9th International World Choral Symposium. "Stars" was commissioned by and dedicated to the Salt Lake Vocal Artists and Brady Allred. This piece calls for tuned glasses and specifically tuned Tibetan Singing bowls. In this video, the choir is using crystal singing bowls graciously provided by Crystal tones. http://www.crystaltones.com/ Stars Text adapted from the poem 'Stars' by Sara Teasdale (1920) Alone in the night On a dark hill With pines around me Spicy and still, And a heaven full of stars Over my head White and topaz And misty red; Myriads with beating Hearts of fire That aeons Cannot vex or tire; Up the dome of heaven Like a great hill, I watch them marching Stately and still, And I know that I Am honored to be Witness Of so much majesty.
